Internships
Through Swedemom Center of Giving's partnership with MEDP's McMinnville WORKS Internship Program, we create an opportunity for students to share their knowledge with others, while also gaining new skills and experience. The students' knowledge and skills create new and innovative ideas that can be put to use to make MacHub stronger.
Students can be involved in the intake process where items are sorted, imaged, described, final checked, put away, sold, packaged, and shipped. Previous interns have also contributed to maintaining social media accounts and created marketing campaigns and organized fundraising events.

Henry Stahl is an upcoming senior at Oregon State University studying marketing. He has been involved in the Grand Opening of The Swedemom Store and is currently working on a rebranding project for us. "In school we are always being taught how to market for bigger companies who have money to spend on marketing, but never how to market on a budget. I feel like this internship is giving me the experience I need to be able to market on all levels."

Annika Selke is a production and data analysis intern. She is a student at TCU – Texas Christian University, and she studies mathematics, philosophy, and economics as a triple major. This summer, Annika is applying her skills to help the intake process for new items, and she is working to track sales and trends in data. Annika is also on the team with Jamie and Benjamin for building a new program that tracks production metrics.

Lassen Anderson's internship focuses on developing marketing products, revamping their website design, and doing product imaging. Lassen is very creative, she enjoys doing photo manipulation and editing, both for personal and professional projects. Currently a student in multi-media studies at Chemeketa, Lassen is getting to apply all of her curricula directly to her work at Swedemom.

Benjamin Harper is a senior Computer Science major at George Fox University, specializing in Cybersecurity. Benjamin is a programming and software development intern. His current project is focusing on building a program and algorithm that can analyze production metrics for Swedemom’s item entry process. This is Benjamin’s first “real world” project outside of the classroom, and the program will be in use even after he is done with his internship.

Jamie O’Connell is a computer software intern, majoring in Computer Science at George Fox University. He is collaborating on a project to streamline Swedemom’s product imaging process. Jamie is excited that he immediately got responsibility and the opportunity to take the lead on projects. He is most excited to implement software that will stick in Swedemom’s program and continue to save the nonprofit time and money.
